California Cirls!
Slices of a potato are electrifried into life and become the CALIFORNIA CIRLS®. The Cirls (young, attractive females), through their agent, Steven Cirlberg™, seek to become Hollywood stars.In that process they encounter the competitive Hollywood scene, enjoy the contemporary California lifestyle, and deal with their adversaries, the VALLEY CIRLS®.
Storylines
- The Cirls are somewhat like a contemporary version of Gidget and her cast of friends, but with some new twists (I mean Cirls), and complications due to their potato origins.
- Sun (but not too much or they’ll get fried which would be deadly to them), beach, surfing, surfer guys – California lifestyle with a Beach Boys musical background style, sound and feel.
- Plus, outmaneuvering the Valley Cirls® for beach turf and guys.
- Entertaining and showing their lifestyle to their naive cousins, the Country Cirls™ (and a reciprocal visit to the Country Cirls™ at their farm/home)
- An occasional rock concert where they become best buds (or is that spuds) with the stars.
- Participation in volleyball tournaments on the beach (including grudge matches against the VCs).
- Going with Chip back home to visit the wise father.
- Shopping on Rodeo Drive for Cirls’ clothes (with Pretty Woman type complications).
- A day or two at Venice Beach (Muscle Beach, roller blading).
- A visit to an amusement park.
- And all the wonderful things that girls (Cirls) of all ages would enjoy doing.
- And, most important of all – being made Hollywood superstars by their agent, S.C. (that’s short for Steven Cirlberg™).
How They Began
A young man had been born on a farm in a cold weather state. His father and his father’s father had been potato farmers all their lives.
The young man, whose name was Chip, decided he did not want to live in the cold weather, but still wanted to be a potato farmer; so, he moved West, bought his own farm next to the ocean and planted his first crop.
The fertile ground by the ocean was perfect for growing potatoes and the sun there was always shining. The young man had been trained well by his father and knew all there was to know about growing potatoes (plus a few secrets*).
With his knowledge and the ideal conditions under the sun on his farm in California, his crops began to grow. Each day he walked out and looked at what was taking shape – and he smiled. He was pleased with what he saw and knew he had something special and unique.
When the crop was fully grown, he went out to the field to pick the first potato. Although all of the potatoes were extremely pleasurable for him to see, he was particularly attracted to one which was especially radiating in the sunshine.
He bent down and picked that one.
* One of the secrets included growing potatoes above ground.
As he then walked alongside the water at the beach, he held that first potato in his hand and marveled at its beauty. Mother Nature had cooperated perfectly. He then decided to cut the potato and see how it looked inside. He did this, cutting it into 3s, each cut in a cirly shape.
Each of the 3 pieces was magnificent. They had beautiful shapes, perfect texture and stunning color.
As he was doing the picking and cutting of the potato, unnoticed to him, 5 young men carrying large surfboards had walked up and now were alongside him. They were as much in awe over the potato’s magnificence as he was.
Just then, from out of the totally clear blue sky, a bolt of lightning came down and struck the three pieces of California potato – electrifrying them – and giving them life.
They each became human size. Though of potato origin, they were now incredible young females – wondrous to behold – with perfect lean shapes, long, cirly, blond hair, and beautiful golden skin.
When the young men saw this, they broke out in song:
“… I wish they all could be California Cirls ®.”
Thus, the California Cirls ® were born – destined to live, thrive, and seek fun (guys) and adventure in the sunshine and on the beaches of Southern California – and find their destiny, with the help of their agent – Steven Cirlberg™, as Hollywood superstars.

California Cirls ®
Eenni Cirl™
The mother hen; very protective of the Cirls. (“Don’t lay out in the sun too long; You’ll get fried!”) Sun-blocked nose, big hat, fully clothed, with a button-down shirt.
Jenni Cirl™
The brainy, stunning one; reads a lot as she lays on her beach towel and quotes incredible lines. (“Friendship for you; Love for two; Peace is due!”) She wears glasses, a bikini top and cut-offs.
Debbi Cirl™
Carries her phone, wears AirPods as she walks down the beach checking out guys. (“Guys! That’s all I ever think about!”) Wears a string bikini, hi-tops and thick white socks. She is very creative and she is cirlvaceous.
Valley Cirls®
Natural enemies to the California Cirls. Loud, pushy, competitive; seek to steal all the good looking beach guys. (“Vals, Go home!”) They wear fluorescents, always chew gum, and have spiked brunette hair.

Tuber™
Rides the tubes (waves). Ivy looking; shortboarder. All of the Cirls love him. Real name is Jeff.
Rosti™
Very dark skin; dreads; rides a boogie board;
he’s somewhat intense and a relatively deep thinker.
Bailer™
Always bailing when a huge wave comes;
has a little, dinged up board with a lot of duck tape. He’s sort of a nerd.
DK™
Very long, blond, natural curly hair. Rides a longboard. His name comes from his response to most questions: “Don’t Know, man!” Real name is David.
CMC™
Hair slicked back – A very young Pat Riley –
He’s one of the guys, but is never seen in the water – because he is too busy hustling the Cirls. Perfectly groomed; money oriented – the bills in his wallet are ironed.
CMC is Cool Man Cool.
Chip™
The young farmer who developed the Cirls. He is their mentor and best friend. His real name is Eric, but he was nicknamed Chip at a very young age. What else would you call the son of a potato farmer? “He’s a Chip off the old potato!!!” His tag line: “Peace out, man.”
